It takes a lot of time to print, fold and address the monthly newsletter. If you are
an elected, appointed officer, a committee chairman or have the responsibility of
having an article for our newsletter each month, please get the information to me
by the
15th of each month so it can be prepared to be printed. The monthly
newsletter needs to be in the hands of our members before the beginning of the
month so they have an opportunity to plan attendance in support of the various
planned activities. If it is done on your computer just send it to
km1722@ctc.net
and
webmaster@km1722.com
It will make our job a lot easier. Thank You.

Dear Brothers and Co-Workers,

those who helped with our Community Service efforts in preparing and delivering
close to 600 Treat Bags to area nursing homes, thank you for your dedication to
our continued success, Great Job! I would like to personally recognize, Brother

This is a list of things that our Moose Legion Committee and Moose Legion Members could do
to build enthusiasm and bring members out to care for our lodge home.

Ø Paint the social quarters          Ø   Patch holes in the parking lot
Ø  Build horseshoe pits                Ø Organize and put on events and activities
Ø   Raise funds for Moose and local charities
Ø This list could go on and on, just imagine the possibilities

All sorts of things could be discussed making idle chit chat, but until we get together as a
Moose Legion unit, things will undoubtedly continue as they are now, “Just Talk”.  We talk
about how The Moose Legion is the second degree of our order, we talk about how the Moose
Legion is the degree of service, but there is no talk about action.  Now is the time for action.

Let’s get started by having a great turnout for our next Moose Legion meeting, Monday, Feb
6th   2012, directly following our regular Moose meeting which begins at 7:30.  Please try to
attend all regular Moose as well as Moose Legion meetings, participation in these meetings are
curtail to maintain communication between officers, committees, and members.

Brother Rick Strope is organizing an event for the Moose Legion activities unit, please keep an
eye out on the bulletin board for further details.

Thanks to everyone who mad contributions to our Christmas family.  It warms the heart to see
our members come together to help a family in need.

Fraternally yours,
Paul Poteat
** GENERAL INFORMATION **

In February a nominating committee will be formed
and begin taking nominations for a new board of
officers to serve next year. There are new
requirements for those that wish to run for an office.
To qualify you must attend a training class. These
classes will begin in February. If you are truly
interested in running for an office the Lodge will pay
the fee for the early classes, the fee will increase
each month and it will be the individuals
responsibility for the fee to attend  later classes. If
you are nominated, run and are elected and have not
attended a class your position will be vacated. The
date, times, & location for these classes will be
posted as soon as they are received.

Your Officers are trying to come up with activities,
meals and events of interest to all our Lodge &
Chapter members. This is not an easy chore and any
input our members can give would certainly help. If
you have an idea, discuss it with them and if it would
benefit the members it can be tried. This is our
members lodge and their input is very important.

It is my pleasure to thank all responsible for the tremendous job they did
preparing, cooking and delivering the chicken dinners for our annual
Nursing home Holiday fund raiser on November 19, 2011. Your efforts
made it possible for us to once again help brighten the lives of
approximately 600 of our friends during the Holidays as Santa and his
helpers deliver goody bags to them. Thank You!

As we all know there are so many in every community including ours that
will have a terrible struggle getting through these holidays, we are small in
numbers but very big in heart, our resources are small but if there is really
a desperate need to help someone, please bring it to our attention and we
will see what can be done.

Fraternally,

Mark Yow Chairman
